About ChyGwyn

ChyGwyn was founded in 1999 as a consultancy company, specialising in Linux kernel development. We worked on the (now obsolete) Linux DECnet project, as well as nbd, LVM, dm and GFS (now GFS2). We also worked on various embedded Linux projects. We helped to set up the UK office of Sistina Software, which was bought by Red Hat in 2003. At about the same time, we moved from Witney in Oxfordshire, to Swansea in South Wales. If you think you've heard our name before, then that is likely to be because ChyGwyn owned the Linux Emporium from 2003 until 2005, when we sold it on to a new home in Birmingham.

From 2005 to 2017, ChyGwyn has been mostly dormant. More recently the web site has been updated to sell stock photographic images. This is just a hobby, since I work full time for Red Hat. I've been taking photographs for a long time, but never really done anything with them. I recently took the plunge and signed up with Alamy, so when I take some more photos which are suitable for stock use, then I'll be adding them to those already available. I generally don't make special trips to take photographs, it is mostly just a case of taking my camera along to places that I'm going anyway. I don't have a huge amount of time to devote to photography, and by limiting things to stock only, I can fit it in with all my other interests.
